Archive Builder — Privacy Policy

Archive Builder packages selected files from a source folder into a single, versioned .zip while preserving the original subfolder structure.

Your privacy matters. This policy explains exactly what Archive Builder does and does not do with your data.

Runs entirely on your device

All scanning, file selection, and .zip creation happen locally on your computer. The application does not connect to the internet and does not transmit your files, folder names, or any other information to us or to any third party.

No data collection or tracking

The app collects no personal data.
There is no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or usage tracking.
No account, sign-in, or registration is required.

What is stored, and where

The app saves a small settings file so it can remember your preferences between sessions. It contains only:

The file extensions you last selected, and any named saved selections you create.
The last source and destination folder paths.
The last package type, plus any custom package names you add.
Your app preferences (file-name separator, theme, and text size).

This file is stored locally at %AppData%\Roaming\ArchiveBuilder\settings.json and never leaves your machine. You may delete it at any time to reset your preferences.

Your files

The app only reads the files inside the source folder you choose, and only in order to add the selected file types to the .zip archive you request. It does not modify, move, or delete your original files. The archive is written solely to the destination folder you select.

Permissions

Archive Builder uses standard file-system access to read your source files and write the output archive. It requests no other system permissions.
